Inverness Cathedral is the ideal place to be married. A personalised service right from the beginning when you say, ‘Yes’ to saying, ‘I do’!

The Cathedral is suited to both large and small weddings, with the main part of the Cathedral able to sit up to 450 people and for more intimate weddings the area of the Cathedral in the Choir can comfortably accommodate 50 people and feel that the space is just right for you, your family and friends for your wedding and marriage ceremony. A range of wedding packages are available – whether you’re looking for something simple, or all the bells and whistles – you can have your perfect wedding here at the Cathedral.

Can we be married in Inverness Cathedral if we are not members of the church?

Absolutely – though you would be very welcome to join us for worship at anytime!

We are a same-gendered couple – can we be married at the Cathedral?

Yes! Inverness Cathedral offers the marriage rite to all couples, whatever your sexual orientation or gender. LGBTQIA+ couples are warmly welcomed to be married here.

We’re already married/civilly partnered– can we have a religious blessing or vow renewal?
Of course. 

One (or both!) of us has been married before. Can we have a church wedding? 
Many of the couples who have been married at the Cathedral have been married before. Clergy can agree to marry people who have been divorced with the permission of the Diocesan Bishop – please contact us to discuss this.

Can our service be personalised?
Each wedding is as unique as the couple being married. Our Marriage Liturgy offers many opportunities for personalisation, and we love to work with couples to craft something that feels personal and bespoke to their values and story. The clergy person taking your wedding w – along with our organist, bell ringers and Flower Fairies as appropriate – will get to know you both as part of the process of planning your wedding, so that the service which takes place will be bespoke.
