Cathedral

We are delighted to welcome visitors to Inverness Cathedral every day of the year. The Cathedral is open 365 days a year, with our doors open from 9.00am to 6.00pm, offering a place of peace, prayer, history, and beauty for everyone.

Admission is:

  • Adults: £6.00
  • Teenagers (13–17): £3.00
  • Children (4–12): £2.00
  • Children aged 3 and under: Free

Your admission helps us care for this beautiful building and continue our ministry of welcome. If you would like to support the Cathedral further, there are donation points throughout the building, with both contactless and cash giving facilities available. Every gift, whatever its size, is greatly appreciated.

Unlike many historic buildings, Inverness Cathedral receives no public funding. We rely on the generosity of our visitors, congregation, and supporters to preserve this remarkable place and ensure it remains open and welcoming for generations to come.

The Cathedral opens earlier each day for our regular pattern of worship, and everyone is warmly invited to join us. Everyone is welcome to enter the Cathedral to pray, light a candle, or attend a service free of charge. An admission charge applies only to those visiting to explore the Cathedral as a visitor attraction.

Accessibility

We want everyone to feel welcome at Inverness Cathedral. Step-free access is available via the rear entrance, where a ramp provides access to the building. An accessible toilet is available, and a hearing loop system operates during services for those who would benefit from it.

Whether you are visiting to pray, light a candle, discover our history, admire the architecture, or simply enjoy a moment of peace, we look forward to welcoming you.

Schools and Uniformed Organisations

We very much welcome school trips and visits from uniformed organisations and can offer a full tour of the Cathedral, covering the history, the architecture and the stories around and about the building with one of our team members. With sufficient notice we can usually arrange for someone from the bell-ringing team to provide a visit to the bell-tower too!

To arrange your school trip or uniformed organisation visit then please in the first instance contact our office on 01463 225553 or email: office@invernesscathedral.org
