Gone But Never Forgotten

Memorial Wall

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our Cathedral created a special Memorial Wall as a place to remember those who had died at a time when many families were unable to grieve, gather, or say goodbye in the ways they had hoped.

The rainbow backdrop for the memorial was lovingly made from fabric left over after volunteers produced face coverings during the pandemic—a lasting symbol of hope, compassion, and community. Each person remembered is represented by a hand-crafted knitted or crocheted butterfly, carrying their name and becoming part of this growing memorial.

The Memorial Wall has become a cherished and important part of Cathedral life. Today, it offers a peaceful place where anyone can remember a loved one who has died, whatever the circumstances or however long ago their loss was. It stands as a reminder that those we love are never forgotten and continue to be held in our prayers.
If you would like to remember someone on the Memorial Wall, please complete the form below. By submitting their name and a short message (up to 180 characters), their remembrance will be added to our online Memorial Wall on the Cathedral website, and a knitted or crocheted butterfly bearing their name will be placed on the Memorial Wall inside the Cathedral.

Whether you visit in person or online, we hope this memorial offers a place of comfort, remembrance, and hope, as together we entrust those we love into God’s eternal care.
