On Sunday 6th October, at Choral Evensong in the Cathedral, the Diocese of Moray, Ross & Caithness bid farewell and gave thanks for the service to and for the Diocese over the years.

Choral Evensong was sung by the Cathedral Choir, with Gordon Tocher conducting the choir and Adrian Marple on the organ. The music included  Responses by Byrd, The Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis Purcell in G minor and the anthem was, ‘The Heavens are Telling’ (Haydn). The service concluded with the organ voluntary by Elgar: Sonata.

We were joined by Bishop Bruce, Fr Edward and Fr  from our companion Diocese in Quebec.

Following the service refreshments were served and there was the opportunity to offer personal thanks to George, who had worked with many, if not all of the congregations across the Diocese at one time or another.

We wish George every best wish for his retirement.
